In this paper the authoress presents some ideas on education of cultural animators in Poland and compiles them with conclusions presented in the report “Culture in Contemporary Poland”. The aim of this article is to answer the question about the professional position of animators. The authoress reviews deﬁnitions of animator and confronts them with diﬀerent ideas of training in various forms of education. Nowadays, the education of animators most oﬅen takes place in universities. But these institutions are not interested, as much, as they should, in the cooperation with the professional environment of animators. The conclusion of this paper is the statement, that we still do not have the precise deﬁnition of the professional space of the cultural animators’ job and the institutional emplacement of this specialization. In the opinion of the authoress, this is the main aspect, which blocks the professional development of animators of culture.
