In the article, the author attempts to answer the question: Whether and how has it become possible to make use of the natural potential of student class groups for building and multiplying the resources of the common good in academic teaching? The text briefly outlines the category of the common good, distinguishes its features, and then makes use of both notions to scrutinise academic groups of students. To this end, it uses a fragment of the author’s former analyses of relationships within academic groups of students (i.e. groups that are formally designated for the implementation of didactics at the university, e.g. classes, lectures). 400 written statements on relationships within groups were sent in by last year students of all faculties of the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań (this is a fragment of extensive panel research on students’ educational experiences). Finally, the author considered the possibility of didactic applications of the group potential in her own didactic work.
